This currency band has the April 13,1976, the Official First Day of Issue. When these notes were about to be released The Federal Reserve Bank notified all US Banks “NOT” to release these notes before April 13,1976 as it was also Thomas Jefferson’s Birthday, April 13, 1743. It is also interesting to note that Thomas Jefferson died on JULY 4,1826, he was 83. Bureau of Engraving and Printing currency stamped band attached. P currency bands are very flimsy and easily tear.
